This was painted at Twin Sister's Lakes on a very comfortable sunny afternoon. The lakes were full with spring water runoff and many trees on the shoreline were wading in water; another perfect subject for a painting. I did, however, get rained on with one of those predicted afternoon mountain showers, very refreshing, but very wet.

Snow Range Plein Aire by Mary Landis #61109

This was one of the plein aire paintings I created while visiting Snowy Range in Wyoming. Even though it was in June, snow was plentiful and many roads were still closed. The air was fresh and crisp as were the snowy mountain vistas. Needless to say, I didn't want to leave but my friends and I were rained out.
